The ‘China-UK University Student Support and Counselling Service Conference’ in June 2019 also saw the launching of the joint ‘China-UK Counselling Association’, with a committee headed by counsellors from the UK and China.
Project Outcomes:
– Understanding of the barriers to counselling services faced by international students, with a corresponding increase in Chinese students accessing Oxford counselling service.
– Workshops provided to counsellors in Chinese culture and the impact of Confucianism on Psychodynamic therapeutic approaches.
– Shared learning and best practice disseminated to the Higher Education sector counselling services via published papers.
